Final blog for the week

Well, perhaps this will be the final time I'll be blogging for about a week. My exam is starting on Monday (that's tomorrow!). Malay and History are my first papers. Hopefully I'll do well in History. I'm not that worried about Malay, but quite concerned about the literature part.

Well, maybe I won't be blogging not for a week, but it's going to be on Thursday when I shall be free to go online. I have to finish 5 out of the 10 subjects in the first four days of my examinations! Then for the rest of the five subjects, the timetable proves to be less hectic for me. I can afford to breathe then.

Now for some updates regarding my LTCL Recital programme. It is quite disappointing that they even rejected my suggestion for Beethoven's Sonata in E major Op. 14 no. 2. Anyway, they said that it was not sufficiently demanding and advised that I do not need to select a piece from every period, namely the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern periods. I can choose an all-Romantic programme or all-Modern programme. If I wish I can even promote an all-Beethoven or all-Chopin repertoire! So, I've decided to submit another piece for approval and this one is indeed a challenging and demanding piece:

  1. Ravel - Jeux D'eau

and I got it approved! So my programme would consist of the piece by Ravel together with:

  1. Bach - Partita no. 2 in C minor, BMV 826, complete
  2. Brahms - Rhapsodies Op. 79 (both)
  3. Debussy - Hommage a Rameau (Images I)

I hope I can put my plans to work after the holidays.

With this, I wish all SPM and STPM students a very best of luck in their examinations! Goodbye and good luck!
