I've got a part-time job
What a bad day for me! I accidentally deleted all the pictures, audio files and the index file that I've made to relate my experience while travelling in Beijing! I don't know what got into me, I put the folder that contains all the files related to my experience in Beijing! I had to redo everything from scratch (except the audio files). Later on, I've got to re-scan my photographs.
I've got myself a part-time job now. I'm now working in a music centre as a part-time administrator and part-time guidance teacher. I'm being paid RM4 per hour as an administrator and RM3 per HALF hour as a part-time guidance teacher. They're both separate jobs. My job as a guidance teacher is to give half an hour's lesson to certain students who need special help, and it's not all the time that I'll be teaching, so when I'm not teaching, I'll do administrator's work. So, when I'm teaching, I get RM3 per HALF hour or RM6 per hour, whereas when I'm not teaching, I get RM4 per hour. Not bad, right?
However, my working hours are not that long, so I'm expecting about RM250 to RM300 of extra pocket-money to use before I return to UTP. Well, that's better than having to stay at home and rot. My working hours are very flexible. But mostly I'm required to work at night from 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. Sometimes, I start work from 5.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. On Saturdays, I've got to work from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
The inconsistent working hours is due to the fact that there are some other part-timers who can't work too late into the evening, because some of them have to go home and cook and take care of the family. Therefore, the music centre is short of manpower in the evenings and nights. Well, at least I've got something to do now!
I mentioned that my working hours is very flexible. Say that I've got some very important thing to do, and it's during my working hours. I can choose not to go and work for that particular day but first I must inform my employer about my not going for work, then she will be able to arrange for a replacement. By I doubt if there will be anything important coming in these few weeks. Anyway, I wouldn't know...
