Perfect meet-up!
Well, apparently Jia Min was the earliest of all because she was in Ipoh Garden South at around 4 pm. I arrived the restaurant at 5.00 pm sharp and called her. Ten minutes later, she joined me at the restaurant and we ordered some drinks and food to eat. At around 5.15 pm, Matius came and we waited for Khai Lin. She had gone to Cameron Highlands with Mr & Mrs. Chee and her mother. She was late but that was already anticipated. They only arrived at 5 minutes before 6. Nevertheless, we were happy that they finally were here and we immediately continued with our programme, chatting from nineteen to the dozen. The best part was that Mr. Chee gave us a treat! Many thanks to him! Haha...
While talking happily, Matius' mother also came and she happened to have just arrived from Australia. It was even merrier! She stayed for about 20 minutes or so before returning home with her son. All the while, we had been talking about school life, our old friends and what we were like when we were young. It was indeed a happy moment, especially for me.
Some unexpected happened. Even Khai Lin's father came! Wow! Such a gathering was indeed marvellous. After one had gone, the other came! And we again continued our conversation and even joked and laughed helplessly. (Apparently, Jia Min had her braces off. So, she was so proudly showing her teeth.)
Jia Min had recently got her braces off. And when she saw me far away on the road, she gave me a million dollar smile. I felt it was rather strange but dismissed it that it's normal for anyone to smile when one meets a friend. Then when Khai Lin was around, she would occasionally give a smile towards Khai Lin. At first, Khai Lin thought that it was weird of her to smile that way, all of a sudden for no particular reason. Then, Jia Min asked, "Is there anything different about me?" Khai Lin couldn't really notice, and then Jia Min started to point to her teeth. Gee.... I told Khai Lin about the teeth and then mimicked the way Jia Min did her gestures. We all laughed.
Well, all the fun ended at 7.00 pm when I had to leave. It was indeed much better than our meet-up in Wijaya Tuition Centre somewhere near CNY. At least, we really had the chance to chit-chat for a longer time. It was indeed a memorable moment for me that I was still able to remain contact with friends who are far away.
