Back in university!
I'm back in UTP already. It hasn't been an enjoyable return to university, considering the fact that upon my arrival in university, I fell ill. I had a sore throat and a mild fever which I took for granted. Then, on the next day, I had a high fever and fits, which prompted me to get me some Panadol pills and Strepsils immediately. Now that you see me writing a blog entry here, you should be able to tell that I am much better already (still having a sore throat).
Much to my annoyance, there is no Internet connection in my room. According to the staff of the Internet, Technology & Media Services (ITMS), the server that provides the Local Area Network (LAN) connection is down. They are trying to fix and resolve the problem. If the problem persists, they will switch to Wireless LAN. As there is no network connection in my room, I couldn't upload my Beijing trip experience (I still need to put up my pictures and audio files). That will have to wait much longer, I'm afraid.
I've just got my course timetable, just to find that I have only got one lecture on Monday! It's contrary to what I expected initially. I anticipated that I would have one lecture on Friday. Well, this means that I'll have to fill the rest of my Monday with tutorials and keep my Friday as free as possible.
During my first semester of my Foundation studies earlier this year, there were about ninety students in the Foundation Civil Engineering group. Today during my first lecture, however, I found, to my surprise, there were about seventy students in the list! And judging from the number of students who turned up for the first lecture, I doubt if there were more than seventy students. I suppose many have withdrawn from the university or got a better offer (don't forget, some students couldn't pass the exams as well; if they score below the cut-off point, they get dismissed from the university, too).
So, how does it feel to be back in university? It feels great! Seriously, it has been a bore to just stay at home without anything to do, especially during weekdays whereby friends who are currently doing their Form 6 studies are occupied in school. It isn't nice to disturb them after school hours, too, especially when they have tuition classes or drama practices after school hours (speaking of which, I need to go back to SMI to get my drama ticket soon!). Of course, I did manage to see my friends in school even though it was just for a short while after school hours at the most unexpected place (at the notice board section opposite the new toilet; hmmm...). I also took the opportunity to visit my teachers. Though it was a short visit, nevertheless, it was a memorable one. This is what I would call "travelling down memory lane".
It's great to be able to see my university mates again. Although we didn't meet for a mere six weeks, it felt like six months. Well, absence makes the mind grow fonder (and familiarity breeds contempt, huh?).
Well, I'd better get my other things settled now (network registration, item declarations, etc.). I'll keep you readers updated as soon as possible.
