Lo and Behold...

Disclaimer: No intention of bragging or boasting.

Yours truly has got himself something new that has successfully burnt quite a big hole in his pockets. Not that he's got himself a new laptop or a new piano, but he's got himself a new mobile phone.

Yes, you read it right. But why would he need a new mobile phone if his current one is still functioning and serving its purpose? Well, picture his current phone: a Nokia 1100, two years old, had been dropped several times and almost going to pieces already, plus the inability to read certain messages and sometimes yours truly can't hear his mother's voice on the other line (and vice versa). That's good reason enough already, right?

So what type of phone? Nokia? Motorola? Samsung? Sony Ericsson? LG? Well, yours truly is quite a die-hard fan of Nokia and Motorola, and is also rather interested in Sony Ericsson but the Nokia N Series seemed to be more appealing to him.

N Series? Oh, those are quite new! What did you get? N70? N71 (no way!)? N72 (erm... out of stock and low in demand)? N73 (I wished, but the design put me off)? N80 (Oh yeah! But RM2299?)? N93 (Need I say more? It's RM2799!)? N95 (is it even in the market yet?)?

No, not even any of those. Yours truly settled for something that "looks" slightly more contemporary: N70 Music Edition. So, what's so different compared to the original N70, right? Well, there are some marked differences.

First of all, the original N70 is silver in colour (or white, if you wish), but N70 Music Edition is entirely black. There's one particular key in N70 that brings you to the Media Center, but that particular key would bring you to the Music Player in N70 Music Edition. Plus, N70 Music Edition comes with "surround" headphones and Bluetooth headset; it also has quite a good built-in phone speaker, meant for music, of course.

Many said that I should have got myself an N73, but honestly, I don't like its design. And some even suggested that I should opt for XpressMusic, but no, I prefer phones with Personal Information Manager systems (PIM), because I use them. Plus, I personally feel that the keypad of XpressMusic and N80 seem "fragile".

Anyway, am I happy with it? You bet I am! Shopping sure brings the best of man, at times, provided that you still have some cash left to spend on other things!
