The moment of truth

Yesterday, we received news from the UTP website that our examination results will be out by 12.00 noon and that we can start accessing the website for our results by then. However, annoyingly, the results were not released until about 5.00 p.m. which infuriated so many of us students, because while UTP emphasises so much on punctuality, here's a department that is not on time to release the results.

Anyway, I was so eager to check my results that when Ivan Chee (thanks a lot!) called me to say that the results are finally out, I immediately went online to check it. My mother was, as usual, doubting if I would do well, because she always thinks that I've been fooling around in university.

I prayed fervently last night (thanks Joe!) that all of us could do better for our examinations this time, for the examinations had been hard, indeed. Although not all did very well, I am very thankful to God that our prayers have been answered, and that most of us, indeed, excelled much better and some even made marked improvements, which I am highly impressed. And I'm also thankful to God that nobody has so far fallen short of the cut-off point to remain in UTP.

Now, for my results. Let me be straightforward with you. I've got a 4.00 for my GPA, and a 3.9 for my CGPA (with my CGPA and the latest GPA, you can calculate my GPA for my first semester). I rejoiced with my parents (especially my mother) and felt so thankful. I could never be any happier and more enlightened.

I've also got some people whom I have to congratulate for either their excellent GPA (getting into Dean's List) or at least making a marked improvement, or both (no GPA revealed and at no particular order):

  1. Tay Ching Hwuang
  2. Low Chee Huey
  3. Dan Hui Xuan
  4. Aaron Lai
  5. Jared Ee
  6. Penny Chan
  7. Arthur Goh
  8. Billy Seah
  9. Phoon Yong Ken
  10. Chen Tien Zyee
  11. Carmen Lee
  12. Winnie Ho
  13. Ivan Chee
  14. Alan Khoo
  15. Ong Wen Sher
  16. Pui Wei Jui
  17. Josiah Tay
  18. Edit: Melissa Chong

I hope I have not left out anybody who deserves their credit. My apologies if I do. For those who didn't make it to Dean's List, do not despair! Feel more motivated to aim higher and make it an effort to work harder. Do not be shy to approach anybody for solutions to your problems. I'll pray that may we all achieve success in the future, for our future.
