Midnight games
Well, being a university student isn't very relaxing, you know, and I confess that I simply do not really have the time or the mood to go exercising right after lectures. However, studying alone is not healthy, so I've just got to go for exercises at night. So last night, at 10.00 p.m. some of my friends and I decided to go to the Sports Complex to have a game of badminton. I've brought my racquet to play whereas some even brought their tennis racquet.
When we reached the badminton court, we were surprised to see SO MANY PEOPLE USING IT! There are three courts and they were fully occupied. So, we decided not to play badminton and moved on to the tennis court where some of our other friends were actually playing futsal! As I was not interested in futsal, I joined Yeo Hann and Brian who brought their tennis equipment and started practising back their swings. I learnt tennis before long ago and I was compelled to regain my swing, too, so I borrowed one of their racquets and started swinging the ball to the wall.
The first few swings were the worst, as if I were only a beginner. The ball either flew too high above the line or below it. I was, of course, disappointed and frustrated at first, but as I went on, my swings became better and I was, for the first time, in a real mood to play with Brian. I have to admit that I am no Pro at tennis at all, so still it wasn't as good. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my game, and we actually played until 12.30 a.m. when they switched off the lights.
I began to feel that I am quite interested in tennis, and I actually felt funny that I am beginning to like games like badminton and tennis. I went down to Ipoh today with some of my friends. I went home and they stayed in Jaya Jusco to do their own "shopping". At home, I told about my tennis playing to my mother and she felt surprised, too. I took out the tennis racquet and noticed that the grip area was mouldy, so I told my mother that the grip needs changing. So, at around 5.15 p.m. she took me to Jaya Jusco to buy a new tennis racquet grip-band. My mother offered to fetch me and my friends back to UTP, so at 5.30 p.m. we made our way back to UTP.
At 8.00 p.m. my roommate, Ivan, and I made our way to Village 3 cafe to have dinner. Ivan said long ago that he was going to give us a big treat, because he vowed that he would treat us for a continental dinner if he scores straight 1A's, which he did. He kept his word and really treated 20 of us for dinner. My, how generous!
Beginning 10th of April this year, students who have lectures at Lecture Rooms will have their lectures and tutorials relocated to the New Academic Complex, and this affected me, too. Great! It's been my dream of having lectures and tutorials there, and I will be studying there soon! Ah, I've forgotten to scan the pictures of the New Academic Complex to show you. Maybe I'll get somebody's digital camera to take a few shots of the New Academic Complex and post them in my blog. You will then understand why some of my friends who have been here before badly want to come here to study.
Well, I think I shall end my entry here. To those who have been chosen for the JPA scholarship interview, congratulations and good luck for your interview! I didn't apply for the JPA scholarship, for some obvious reasons. Whatever it is, I wish all of you best of luck!
