Basically, I've nothing much to write about now. Well, I had my Thinking Skills test at 8.00 pm just now. They were all Multiple Choice Questions, so it wasn't that bad.

Well, it is quite hard for me to believe that I have actually spent almost three months in university already. This made me think of my secondary school days, which I quite miss.

So, three months in university now, and some others are in college. I do wonder how the others are doing so far. One thing that I have observed for so long is that lecturers do not spoon-feed students at all, contrary to what some teachers, if not most, do! There are the pros and cons of not spoon-feeding the students, but I do not wish to discuss about them here. To understand the pros and cons yourself, go and study Pre-U first, then you will soon understand what I meant.

One of my tutors had attended a seminar in KL regarding the revamp of the Malaysian public examination system. After so many years, the government has now realised that our examinations are not producing quality, capable students. What I mean here is that our examinations only test our memory power and how well we absorb information, but they do not test our understanding and how we can apply certain knowledge in our daily life.

This compelled a lot of teachers to spoon-feed the students rather than to explain in detail everything that they are teaching. However, with the revamp in the examination system, hopefully the education system will change for the better, too. It seems that examinations will not play a very important role in academic excellence, but rather coursework, assignments, projects, co-curricular activities will be given more emphasis.

I do wonder what took the government so long to realise the flaw of our examination system. Nevertheless, I must applaud them for taking suitable measures now. At least, the next generation of students will be able to learn better.
