5Sc1 Gathering

I can't believe that I actually forgot to relate what happened the night before our SPM results were released. I guess I was too lazy to write about whatever happened on Sunday night. Anyway, I shall write about the gathering that I had with my ex-classmates at Kinta City (also known as Jaya Jusco).

On Friday evening, I went home to spend the weekend and also to enable me to take my SPM results on Monday morning. That night itself, Moganasivan and Sen Loong told me about their plans to have a gathering with the other classmates on Sunday at 8.00 p.m. I imagined that there would be fewer than ten being called to such a gathering. Nevertheless, I accepted the invitation to go. It's nice to be able to meet each other, no matter how many of us there were. After all, it would be extremely difficult for us to meet again in the future.

So, Sunday night came and I made my way to Jusco myself. Upon my arrival, I found myself alone (I arrived at 7.45 p.m.). So I waited and eventually Jared and Kei Fai turned up, but not before I was chatting with Jia Min at the ticketing counter. After a while, more and more people came, and finally at 8.40 p.m., almost 20 of us were there! That quantity was way above my expectation.

We wanted to have our dinner at Pizza Hut, but we were told that there will be seats available after 15 minutes. We couldn't wait for half an hour for our pizzas to arrive so I suggested that we go to The Wooden House, and they took it. All of us stood outside The Wooden House at first looking at the menu, and the staff looked worried to see such a big crowd. There was nobody at that moment (because most people would have finished their dinner by then), so we made our way in. As there were over 20 of us, the staff had to bring some tables and chairs together and formed a big row. We sat down and began ordering our food.

Before dinner arrived, I took the opportunity to take one or two snaps of my camera. Then, not long after that, our dinner came and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We talked after dinner, and it was an enjoyable one. We laughed, shared experiences (with the NS trainees, especially; laughed at their hair, etc.) and continued talking (some gossiped as well). In fact, we were the noisiest of all people in The Wooden House. After a long long talk, we finally paid the bill. It amounted up to RM220.00 plus. Hmmm... we Michaelians certainly are a generous lot when it comes to food, right?

Then, we decided to have a game of bowling. Jared didn't play though, but most of us did. Raehan and some of the others played snooker or pool (whichever is the one). I got myself a strike on the second attempt for the second round, and after that, a miracle happened. Moganasivan literally threw the ball down the lane (the ball actually hit the floor with a loud THUD), but it still rolled down the lane. However, his ball spinned to the right and hit the drain, so down it went into the drain. All of us (including him) thought that he missed the first attempt and therefore hoped that he could do better for the second one. However, that was not the case. The ball continued rolling in the drain, but upon reaching the end, it jumped out of the drain, onto the lane again and struck the pins! He actually scored 9 for the FIRST ATTEMPT! We started to laugh helplessly. Our reaction was, "WHOA!" What was actually a bad start turned out to be one of the best and the most comical. In fact, throughout the whole game, his first start was the best. For the rest of the game, he could at most strike 8 pins on one attempt. What sheer luck he had!

Ashok Kumar, too, who was at the bowling alley before we came, impressed us very much also. He actually scored four consecutive strikes for his first four rounds! He scored the best among all of us. However, he is no professional bowler. Anyway, that means that he has the talent for bowling. Extremely impressive!

The time came for me to leave when my watch showed 11.00 p.m. I fetched Jared home and then I made my way back home. I arrived home at about 11.20 p.m., feeling happy that I managed to meet my ex-classmates and spend some quality time with them before going to get my SPM results. I wonder when will this happen again? Only time will tell.
